Digital Nomad and Passive-Income Residence

Residence for remote workers and retirees

Digital Nomad and Passive-Income Residence

Spain's digital nomad visa and passive-income/retiree residence: income thresholds, insurance and tax effects.

File management from 55,000 TRY

As remote work has spread, many countries have opened special residence programmes for people who work for a foreign employer or have passive income. These programmes require no investment; they ask for proof of regular income instead.

Programmes and income thresholds

  • Spain's digital nomad visa: for remote workers, a monthly income equal to a multiple of the minimum wage; the first permit is 1-3 years.
  • Passive-income/retiree residence: with proof of rental income, pension or dividends; available in many European countries.
  • Georgia, the UAE and Croatia: short-term residence options for remote workers.

Required documents

  • A remote employment contract or freelance invoices
  • 6-12 months of bank statements and income documents
  • Health insurance (valid in the country)
  • Criminal record certificate (apostilled)
  • Proof of accommodation

Tax consequences

A residence permit does not mean tax residency, but staying more than 183 days in a country can create it. We recommend you assess double taxation treaties with Turkey and special tax regimes (e.g. Spain's Beckham regime) separately with your tax adviser.

Fee

File management starts from 55,000 TRY. Health insurance, translation and government fees are separate.

Scope of service

  • Income threshold and eligibility calculation
  • Choosing health insurance
  • Tax residency briefing
  • Remote-work document layout

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee approval?
No. A residence, citizenship or work permit decision belongs to the relevant state body alone. No advisory company can guarantee approval. We provide profile analysis, document and source-of-funds preparation, compliance and process management.
Is the investment amount included in your advisory fee?
No. The investment amount is paid directly to the government fund, the property seller or the investment fund; we do not collect cash on behalf of clients. Our advisory (file management) fee is written fixed and separately in the contract.
What is the difference between citizenship and residence?
Citizenship gives you that country's passport and all rights of citizenship; residence gives the right to live and often work in the country but no passport. Residence often depends on holding the investment and must be renewed.
Is dual citizenship allowed in Türkiye?
Turkish nationality law permits dual citizenship; however, you need to notify Türkiye of your second citizenship and assess obligations such as tax and military service separately. Confirm the current legislation with your legal adviser.
Why is the source of funds so important?
States and banks examine the legitimate source of invested money under anti-money-laundering rules. An undocumented or inconsistent source is the most common reason for refusal. The SoF report should therefore be prepared before the investment decision.
